EXERCISE is KEY when it comes to eliminating that #perimenopausal or #menopausal weight gain!
I’ve been on the hormonal roller coaster for almost 4 years (Since 42. I’m almost 46 now). During that time I have tried:
1) RUNNING – I trained for the NYC marathon. This was effective but my body was a mess ... and running a zillion miles per week is not sustainable for me
2) HIKING – I love hiking, but the kind of hiking I need to do to really get into shape takes a LOT of time out of your schedule ...and is weather dependent.
3) BBG or Bikini Body Guide – this is great at getting you toned, but it bulks. The founder is teeny tiny, but for me, the workout added bulk to my butt and legs.
4) P.VOLVE – I love the way I feel during and after a pvolve workout. It’s so gentle and lovely and I think it would be awesome for women with joint issues, but ultimately it doesn’t help with weight loss.
5) john_benton_model_fitness – I think if I lived in Dallas, I would be heading to his classes, but the virtual offerings are slim and really hard.
6) PILATES – Pilates is another exercise I really love. I think if I went to classes daily, I would see incredible results, but I don’t have time to go to a studio everyday. Try the myopenfit app workouts. They are tough and short at just 30 minutes.
7) YOGA – I’ve tried yoga again and again and for some weird reason, I can’t get into it.
8) TRACY ANDERSON: I’m doing DAILY tracyandersonmethod workouts now (6 days per week). I do “Fundamentals” intermediate mat workout. She switches the workout every 7 days. Her workouts are HARD, but they work! Try her workouts at least 3x per week for six weeks ...and you’ll see what I mean. Her mat workouts have shaved INCHES off my legs (look back at my before and after pics). I am not doing Tracy’s cardio, but contemplating adding 15 minutes to the start of my workouts 2 days per week.
What workouts are you doing that you think really help with toning and weight loss??? Please share in the comments. *Also, please tag a friend or family member that you think might benefit from this info.* ~Erin xo
