Another bush plant to cherry-ish! ❤️
Creek lilly pillies (Syzygium australe), also known as scrub cherries, grow in large clusters along fresh water streams in Queensland’s lush rainforests. 🍒
These bright-red bush cherries have a spongy, juicy texture and refreshing, slightly sour taste, a delightful combination of apple and pear flavours. They’ve been traditionally enjoyed freshly picked from the tree, but can be used to make mouth-watering jams, sauces and WINE. They’re also a zingy addition to cocktails, champagne and gin! 🍹
