Aniseed Myrtle is native to the subtropical rainforest areas of Eastern Australia. The stunning tree can grow up to 35 metres tall and produces glossy green leaves and clusters of creamy, fluffy flowers during the summer time.
🌱 Aniseed Myrtle is related to Australia’s Superstar, Lemon Myrtle.
🌱 This native plant has a delicious liquorice-fennel like flavour, and is extremely aromatic, with the crushed leaves smelling like strong aniseed.
🌱 It has antifungal and antimicrobial properties, it also contains vitamin C, vitamin E, folate, magnesium, and lutein (a compound that’s essential for eye health).
🌱 Aniseed Myrtle is delicious with pork or fish, rice, seafood, cookies, ice cream, or tea.
