And for today’s Instagram post, we see Karli in her natural habitat. 😉 Yesterday was my first day back to work after a 2 week break and 4 Christmas recitals (talk about exhausting) and it was so good. The break was incredible, but I’m really excited to see all my kiddos again this week. I share a lot about fashion and my fun adventures with Kyle, but I don’t share much about a big part of my life....owning notesmusicstudio. Finding this photo in my phone just brought up a lot of feelings of gratitude and reflection.

I started teaching piano when I was 16 years old, as a small job to put me through college. The plan was to always quit my job and teach kindergarten. Well once I graduated college I just couldn’t leave the kids I’d grown to love, so I taught piano half the day and kindergarten the other half. After 3 years of working in public education, I realized I needed to jump in head first with my music studio and that’s when notesmusicstudio was officially born.

It’s been 2.5 years since that scary day when I quit my job to run with some crazy ideas I had. It’s been 2.5 years and lots of hard work, but I’m excited to see the growth and be able to say we have over 100 students, 7 music classes (starting with kids as young as 6 months old), and 3 additional teachers working at our studio. Sometimes it feels like a dream, and other times the amount of work it takes makes me wish I had not expanded. In the end though I’m so grateful for my job, grateful for the students I get to teach, and the parents who understand that music education is vital to a child’s development.

Side note: This dress is from roolee 💚 I got asked about this dress more than any other dress I wore in December. They still have some available and they have a bunch of colors. I did get a size XSmall as it runs slightly big, but XSmall is always my preferred size, so I’d say get your true size.
