I'm not sure how my heart is going to handle the bigger things that come because even seeing Tate in his "big boy bed" + sharing a room with Ellie has been almost more than this mama can handle. Two weeks ago as I was singing Tate to sleep, I realized it was the last time I'd be rocking him to sleep next to his crib. He must've been able to sense my voice getting a little shaky as I was holding back tears, because he turned to look at me, leaned is forehead against mine and said, "Don't cry." "Don't cry, mama." Of course that did nothing but make me cry. 😭 His heart is something special, that boy. Time seems so unfair sometimes; a thief, like it's stealing the ground from beneath me. I sit here and watch my kids getting older, swapping out their clothes for bigger sizes, changing out diapers for underwear, moving from cribs to beds... and knowing I have another on the way only making things a little more challenging to split my time one more way. My heart is being pulled a million directions. I'd love to hear from the moms out there with grown children ages 12+... what do you wish you would have done or what are you grateful you did to capture these precious moments a little bit more and soak them all in when your kids were young? What is something you would tell your younger mom self? Please share your advice + wisdom!🙏🏻
