Sometimes the holiday season gets so busy with decorating, shopping + work that we forget to slow down and consider what’s most important. Today, rather than focusing on anything else, I want to pause and share with you the story of a woman I admire so much.
Meet Tia Bee Stokes. By all accounts, @thetiabeestokes has a great, enviable life. She has a beautiful family with 5 adorable kids. She’s an exceptionally talented dancer with a captivating personality + radiant smile.
Tia also has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This cancer of the blood + bone marrow is aggressive and results in severe fatigue, infections and bruising. Chemotherapy, stem-cell transplants and other drugs are usually the best ways to fight the disease. Tia has an additional strategy.
Rather than dwell on the negatives, Tia takes the opposite approach. Her attitude + determination are even more resolute through her treatments. Not only does she fight back with a great attitude, but she dances her way through it.😭
The world needs more people like Tia. Her light + demeanor in the face of adversity are an inspiration to so so many. She is beautiful and kind and grateful and all around freaking incredible. Thank you Tia for just being you. I hope you realize how special you are.✨
