Trying something new today y’all! We recently added some wall mounted shelves that are a total game changer in our living room! I absolutely loved putting these together, so today I’m sharing my top tips for styling shelves: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Include something that draws the eye down. I did this by adding a trailing plant and words going down the shelves. It keeps things interesting and creates movement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Include some larger items. Shelves with a bunch of tiny objects can start to look cluttered since the eye doesn’t know what to focus on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. If you have books that are old, beat up, or don’t go with your color scheme, flip them so the pages face the front. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Most importantly...have freaking fun with it! Use items that make you SMILE. I put one of the woven fans we used as wedding favors on our shelves and now every time I look at them I get warm fuzzies all over again remembering that amazing day! 🥰 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The best thing about creating a cute set of shelves?? Nothing is permanent! You can move things around until it’s just right, and even add seasonal elements, like bottle brush trees for Christmas, something spooky for Halloween, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do y’all want to see more interior design tips?!
