Recognize the battle going on in your soul. The struggle with the flesh seems so prevalent at times. For those who are born again Christ-followers, the Holy Spirit within us is at war with the sinful nature of our flesh. Paul talks about this in Romans 7:14-25 (give it a read!). And I get so discouraged by this sanctification process because most of the the time, I confess, I expect perfection out of myself with little grace. 🤦🏼♀️ But its dangerous to be simply comfortable coasting in complacency - or worse, caught up in a feeling of accomplishment rooted in self righteousness.
Our enemy, the devil, would love us to fall into either of these spots. Though we can point the finger at him, often it is our own sinful nature that brings us to these points. The spiritual battle is real, but we have already won the war in Christ. Though we are imperfect, God looks at us and sees the beautiful perfection of Christ and who we truly are in Him. The enemy loses, and we get to experience total contentment, perfection, and peace in heaven for eternity.
So when you feel the weakness of your flesh overtake you, run to the One who can never be overtaken! 🙌 And receive the grace He freely gives when you feel the the tug and pull of this struggle. Its a good place to be. ☀️ #socality #sundayspiel #recognizethewar
