It's a funny thing... My body is bigger, wider, heavier than it's ever been. It has stretch marks and saggy skin from all the growth and changes it has undergone the past few years. And yet, I am more confident in my skin and in my body than I have ever been. For years I let comments about my weight and my stretch marks prevent me from doing and wearing so much. When I would look in the mirror, I would be haunted by comments I've gotten and the "teasing" of others... I still struggle to fight off those initial thoughts and those reoccurring comments in my head. But I look at myself now and see more than just a size. I see more than stretch marks. I see more than a number on a scale. I see a mother. I see a woman. I see someone worthy. And more than that I see my worth. Especially having a daughter now, I want to keep growing confident and comfortable in my skin. I don't want her to hear me talk ill about my body or repeat the same rude comments I have been traumatized by. I don't want her to think that in order for her to be worthy of love and happiness she has to be a certain size or weight or have a certain appearance. I want her to know that her worth and confidence should not come from her looks. And that no matter what her body looks like, she is a beautiful, worthy, and loved individual 🤍
