I’ve been feeling so sentimental lately. I get like this in pregnancy, but preparing for Langston to turn one has me doing all the reminiscing. As I was working on his baby book and childhood journal recently I was stuck by how the many hard and long days of motherhood somehow give way to a full year. Soon, LJ will be a toddler and then a little boy. His newborn days are long gone, but I am so glad for photos and journal entries to remind me. I remember feeling so unattractive when we took these newborn photos, none of my clothes fit, and I had just had a huge baby. I figured myself out though, stuffed myself into this dress that didn’t even zip and took some photos with my family. I didn’t look at most of the shots with me in them for a long time. Today, I just look back and see a new mom of two. Perspective is truly such a gift.
