“Get what you need to succeed.”- what my husband told me, after refusing to let me turn out 4th bedroom into anything but my workspace.
So, I did. I made conscience decisions about color, aesthetic, functionality, etc. for this little office of mine.
I felt guilty the whole time I was doing it. To which he would argue “Sierra, you’re literally running 4 businesses on your own, and you don’t have a spot to land. Get it organized how you want, so you can feel at peace.”
Peace is a funny thing. You don’t realize that you didn’t have it, until you do. You can fight like mad searching for peace, when really it starts with the 4 walls you live in. It starts with your own heart.
So I started building in these 4 walls. This is the room I pack all my sticker, keychain, and pottery orders. This is the room I I glaze all my pieces of pottery in. This is the room where my pottery sits, until it’s ready to be shipped worldwide.
But most importantly, this is the room where kiddos wander in and out, kissing me, hugging me, telling me how proud they are of my business. Or where they eat my packing peanuts. (Merrick.) It’s where I dream, write, I’ve even cried in this room.
I didn’t know I needed it, until it was here. Mark fought for that. He saw a way to improve my peace, and didn’t waiver.
I have new and exciting things coming… and none of it would be possible, if I didn’t have a quiet spot I could go, to prop my feet up, and dream. 🪴
