How I fight insecurity and comparison as a content creatorš”
Feeling insecure is inevitable when putting yourself on the internet every day. I consume so. much. content. on a daily basis and sometimes I get overwhelmed with not doing enough, looking enough, being enough.
Stepping into vulnerability online was a piece of cake for me a few years back. But over the past year or so Iāve become more reserved. It gets very hard to put myself out thereāboth on a personal and physical level. Iām usually a confident person but man I canāt lie, I recently spiraled into insecurity fueled by comparison. I just want to validate you if youāve been feeling similar. It is completely normal to have moments of self-doubt. The good news is that it is manageable, and you WILL overcome it. So my fellow creators, hereās some advice that has personally helped me get out of this headspace:
āļø Focus on your journey. Recognize that your pace is different than everyone elseās, and you have to keep your mind firm in what you stand for and want to create.
āļø Protect your time and energy, youāll be able to show up as your highest self when you do. Gauge how much you can consume in one day and set a schedule to stick to.
āļø The differentiation you bring to the table is why many are inspired by you. Rest in the comfort that people genuinely care about you and your content.
āļø Set goals each day to better yourself. If you actively engage with your community, learn something new, complete a workout, or create a bomb photoā¦youāll feel so proud of yourself! Keep striving for self-improvement.
āļø Prioritize life outside of social media. At the end of the day, what matters most to you? Keep your priorities in check and donāt forget to live life. This will make you feel more refreshed to get back online.
