My testimony has grown and my relationship with God is better than it’s ever been and it’s because, I stopped pretending. I stop pretending that I understood everything. I stopped pretending that I didn’t have questions or that I was even sure I aligned completely with everything. I stopped going through the motions, saying empty prayers just to say I said them, skimming my scriptures just to say I did it. A few years ago the place that I am would probably have made me feel that I didn’t belong in the gospel because I was either all in or all out and my questions certainly didn’t make me all in. Instead I know I belong here. My prayers are mostly question filled but always with the intent to learn not the intent to disprove. I’ve learned the large difference between gospel and culture, doctrine and opinion. I’ve come to learn that my relationship with God is mine and only mine and that it’s okay for faith filled footsteps to feel heavy and dragging. I no longer feel the need to fit a certain mold to know that I belong. He accepts me as I am and will make me better as I continue to walk in faith. 💛
