“When @radhidevlukia and I went through our design process, it took us almost a year to create the dream weekender. We tried to think of every little detail - a pocket for AirPods/jewelry was something we always felt was needed, but also a zipped pocket for those little things you don’t need instant access to but need to ensure are safe. We changed our zippers about six times. Radhi felt that a passport pocket was super important to her, so we tried three different pocket styles till we finally landed on the right one. A soft, vegan suede lining was important to us because we wanted that luxe feeling inside the bag, and of course, a laptop sleeve because we’re always trying to get stuff done on flights (inbox zero, right?) We learnt the power of Abhyanga oil massages through Radhi - she formulated two essential oil blends that come with every bag, simply to keep you grounded and relaxed on your journey. Each bag gives back to @thesoularbackpack - an initiative that SAMARA came from and that provides children in East Africa, where I grew up, with access to clean, safe light every night. We wanted the bag to be versatile yet bold, classy yet sporty, with the most important message being that the most important journey you take, is the journey within.”
