New Product: Apple Leather Minis 🍎
When I started SAMARA in December 2017, I wanted to bring cleaner materials into fashion, whilst empowering people throughout our supply chain. Most leather alternatives are made from PVC, which is detrimental to the environment. We never use PVC, and we use water based PU and microfiber instead.
Over the past year though, I’ve been trying to find ways to incorporate more plant based or recycled materials into our bags. From experimenting with pineapples, to trying to create coconut leather, nothing seemed to have the luxury feel we all want. Then, I tried apples.
We’ve been working with factories in Europe and Asia over the past 8 months to create our Minis from Apple skins that are a by-product of the juicing industry.
