I wanted to post about what I do for my new followers, and also for my established ones who might not really know. It's a longer post than I usually share. When people ask me what I do I say I work in fashion and media, or that I'm a fashion entrepreneur as defining my days succinctly is not always easy. Like most people these days, I wear many hats...

Back in 2011 I entered & won a sustainable design contest called @RedCarpetGreenDress founded by Suzy Amis Cameron. I had to create an ethical gown in 11 days and fly to Los Angeles to meet Suzy and her husband 'Avatar' Director James Cameron. I thought that would be the end of my experience, but it really wasn't. I picked up a book called Eco Fashion by @ClothingEthics and everything changed. Having walked past framed images of JC and 'The Terminator' I sat in an office and was offered the role of Campaign Director. After a day deliberating/praying, I said yes as the opportunity to work with such brilliant people was too incredible. I figured I'd learn as I went along and keep writing (I released my first book @FDRBook with @BloomsburyPublishing in 2013, after 2 years research/writing) and designing (I was the first British female to showcase at Nolcha New York Fashion Week) whilst juggling the project. The only thing on pause is the designing. I still write for platforms like The Guardian, Huffington Post and SamataHome.com on sustainable fashion, fashion entrepreneurship and women's empowerment.

Last year when getting back from delivering 2 ethical gowns at the Oscars I was asked 'What's next?' as soon as I got off the plane. In that moment I decided to create @THE___TRIBE, a space for women to stop being asked what's next and start being celebrated for who and what they already are right now! Acknowledgement always a step away? No more. I didn't anticipate growing to 8.5K women in 12 months! •
Here I post the ethical fashion brands I wear (I don't post enough style content to qualify for affiliate marketing though!), chat about representation in fashion (I have strong views), and share THE TRIBE & RCGD news. I don't only post 'what to buy' because my mission is all of the above. Thank you for reading ??
