When we started Sand Cloud 5 years ago we never thought plastic pollution would get this bad so quickly and marine life are having to live with the consequences. Over 18 billion tons of plastic are being dumped every year into the ocean and it’s causing disruptive problems like this:
____ ❌ Ocean pollution kills more than one million sea birds each year and it’s not slowing
____ ❌ By 2050 we are going to have more plastic in the ocean than fish.
____ ❌ Fish and other marine life often can’t tell the difference between plastic and food. If the animal eats plastic, they can’t digest it. The plastic fills their stomachs, so they starve to death.
____ ❌ Carbon emissions harm the oceans as well as the air. If our behavior continues as is, the surface water of the ocean could be 150% more acidic than it is now.
