Welcome to a new series: #SeeaTipTimeTuesady and #seeababesurflessons where our ambassadors share how-tos and appreciation for the skill and nuance of exceptional surfing!
@sarahbrady opens this wave with a beautiful bottom turn. An effective bottom turn sets up speed and positioning for what’s coming down-the-line. In order to get the board on rail, as seen here, shift the back foot closer to the inside/toeside rail and lean into it (with your back leg and up through your hips!). This will tip the board, causing it to turn and gain momentum. Play around with foot placement. Get comfortable moving the feet slightly in different directions to see how the board responds. This applies to longboards, mid-lengths, and wider shortboards that have more than one ‘sweet spot’ for turning. - lesson by @leahloves
