Backside bottom turns are critical for setting up the speed and line for the ride. Watch here how Leah places her back foot towards the inside of the rail, just as she leans into her back leg to turn. Pay attention to your foot placement, if you keep catching a rail, chances are your back foot isn't close enough to the rail. Also, pay attention to timing for the actual bottom turn. If the wave is racing off in front of you, a bottom turn right away is usually the call.
