Baby Steps! Cross-stepping to the nose is an art that takes practice and dedication to master. On your backhand, more energy will be pushing through your heels. Pay attention to how close your feet are to the inside (wave side) rail. If you are walking towards the nose and the board slips out as your walking, you can counter act that by placing your feet closer to the inside rail as you walk, and perhaps sliding your fin back/bigger fin... Eventually, pay attention to the size of your steps. While big steps cover more distance, smaller steps showcase more control, technicality, and some may say grace.
