Maneuvers are completely dependent on the wave. Learning what maneuvers to look for takes time of learning the language of the ocean, but in time, this awareness will grow.
In this clip, you'll see Rosie and Leah waiting for the right time to walk to the nose. They are allowing the wave to stand up more and offer a steeper section, rather than going straight to the nose and risk pearling because there's too much water under the nose. This timing and ability can improve with every wave ridden. Watch other people in the lineup to get a sense of their timing on the waves- are they redirecting, is there a flat spot on the wave, does the wave race and get really fast at some point? Heightening our awareness and attention to how the ocean is moving (which will be different every single time!) this is the experience important to predicting the unpredictable ocean! #SeeaTipTimeTuesday
