Rail Stabilization! If you're entering a steep section of a wave on a longboard, the water going up the face can sometimes disengage our inside rail and cause us to fall or lose control. In order to maintain the rail control of the board, as well as create momentum and bring balance through the steep section, scoot your back foot closer to the inside rail, as seen here by @leahloves. She how she splits her feet on both sides of the board, but keeps her weight engaged over her back foot. Not only does she gain stability by doing this, but also speed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Play around with your foot placement. Find the times when going more parallel stance helps give you speed and balance. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
