A special edition of #SeeaTipTimeTuesday @leahloves shares insight on the many ways we can all nurture this momentum.
.
"We're living in historical times. As the Civil Rights Movement is revitalized around the world, how can we as individuals play our part?
Togetherness is key. Celebrating each other is the crux, for if we are able to do this, the humanness between all of us will continue to grow and have uplifting effects on communities worldwide.
Listening has never been more important. Conversations about race apply to all of us, the more we listen with an open heart, the more we will broaden our perspectives and empathize with others.
Learn and seek out information from African American voices. The facts of oppression and police brutality against African Americans in the US are alarming, as in other countries for people of color. Look at statistics, inform yourself and share with others.
Expand on our comfort zones, perhaps new best friends are right around the corner. 2020 is a year history books perhaps centuries from now will continue to reflect on. Let's all play our part in ending systemic racism. It starts within each of us, the conversations we have at home, at school, at work, the way we treat each other in passing.
Vote. We are seeing how powerful city council members can be, mayors can be, and of course, the top of federal leadership. Stay informed about who is running, make sure they align with human rights, equality, and ending Police Brutality."
.
In the line up and beyond we can all partake in an ocean of change...
