#SeeaTipTimeTuesday Frontside Hang 5 ~ First, identify the section on the wave that you want to noseride. It usually will be more steep than flat, as in a flat section, your nose is likely to pearl. Your last two steps to the nose require stabilizing the board by pushing into the board with your weight and strength. Place the back foot towards the inside rail a little bit, instead of the middle of the board, this will help you maintain control of the board especially if feels unbalanced. Then shift your weight onto the back foot as you cross-step, and push into the board with your back foot, instead of balancing on it. (Try this on land. Balance on one foot, as in a cross-step. Push into the ground with the whole leg/foot, instead of simply trying to balance on the foot. This will ignite the muscles and make the leg much more sturdy and grounded.) Place your front foot on the nose. As you place your foot, try to feel for the edge of the nose, and you can grip your toes around it to give to stability. Most of your weight during a hang 5 will be on your back foot. The board will usually pick up speed while youre on the nose, so be ready! Once the section looks like it is going to flatten out, ready yourself to start walking back to the middle of the board to reset! Watch Mele here, as she balances most of her weight on her back foot as she hangs 5. Timing is everything with nose riding, so anticipate the good sections and go for it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Words by @leahloves
