#SeeaTipTimeTuesday Back Foot, Turning Foot ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In this clip, I’m riding a 6’7 single fin with a pretty pulled in tail.  With a board this size, or similar in range 6’2-7’4  isn, I like to ride the board from the middle to make the most speed, or to zoom past steep sections, or to engage the inside rail through a barrel. But when it comes time to turn, depending on the size of the board (and how far the middle is from the tail), put the weight briefly on your front foot and shift your back foot towards the tail, opening into a turning stance.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To turn the board, the rail has to engage, so if your having trouble getting the board to turn, chances are, your feet aren’t in the right spots.   In this clip, I adjust my back foot from the middle of the board and push into it on the tail in order to initiate the downturn (with more emphasis on my back heel as I downturn).  Once at the bottom of the wave, I shift my weight of my back foot onto my toes, which engages the bottom turn.  As the board comes up the face from the bottom turn, readjust your weight on your back foot back onto your heel for the top turn.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Turning is all about minute adjustments in foot placement and the pressure we put into our feet.   So no matter what board you are on, short or long, remember that a board pivots more the further back your back foot is on the turn. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -Words by @leahloves Film by @ondenostre @lucamerli @gio_sbrokked
