#seeatiptimetuesday High line to down carve ~ when riding shorter boards, one of my favorite feelings is doing a long high line trim into a down carve. Taking the high line often produces a lot of speed, and speed is necessary for a good carve. To high line, you draw a line with your inside rail that hugs the top of the wave. Because you’re in the highest steepest part of the wave it’s easy for the board to slip out or fins to disengage-so you really want to pay attention to your inside rail.
For the down carve- a lot of it has to do with foot placement, and then driving through your backfoot. Aim with your front hand, and push into the board with your feet to give the maximum strength into the turn.
