#SeeaTipTimeTuesday
If reflecting on 2020 has taught us anything: it’s to care more, and slow down. Surfing is a practice in patience and purposeful play. A sense of calm and clarity can turn a mediocre session into a meaningful active meditation, and we are looking forward to implementing more mindfulness into the new year. Next time you paddle out, test out your five senses to truly tune into your session and yourself:
1. Find one thing you can taste. The saltiny of the sea, or even that last sip of coffee?
2. Notice two things you can smell. Bring attention to scents that you usually filter out of you conscious mind.
3. Notice three things you can hear. Listen and note the audible background. It could be the birds, water hitting the shore, laughter in the lineup.
4. Notice 4 things you can feel. Bring attention to the things that you’re currently feeling. The texture of your suit, the temperature of the water, sunshine on your skin, wax under your feet...
5. Notice five things that you can see. Look around you, become aware of your environment. Try to pick out something unique that you would usually overlook.
✨ Do you feel that? Shoulders drop away from your ears, the delight and blessings of the day, and the joy of just being.
A daily gift from our blue planet, our healthy bodies, and our present minds ✨
