#SeeaTipTimeTuesday Stall! ~ notice how @shredsista stalls her board just before she starts to cross step to the nose. By putting weight on her backfoot very quickly, she slows her board down in order to get to the nose while in the pocket of the wave. Watch this video multiple times and study how she uses her body to slow down the board. This technique is useful especially in a slower wave when you need to match the board speed to wave speed for the noseride. By stalling, you reconnect the board with the speed of the wave/pocket. A lot of times, intermediates will cross-step without stalling and struggle to find the balance connected to the board. Stalling helps connect your energy to the board, which is very helpful for maintaining balance. Surfer: @shredsista Video: @robotsfrom
