Foot placement!!!
The most important control mechanism is our foot placement. Exactly where we place our foot on the board, whether it’s a longboard or shortboard, makes a difference with how the board will respond to the water.
This view of Rosie allows us to see her foot placement on the board as she rides the wave. Pay attention to precisely where she places her feet each time. They aren’t always right in the middle of the board, sometimes they are more towards one rail or the other. Your back foot wants to be closer to which ever rail you’re turning on— either your toe side turn - toes closer to rail— or your heel side turn- heels closer to rail….
The intricate detail in foot placement, therein lies the dance!
