#SeeaTipTimeTueday Learning the Language of the Ocean! Taking a break from the technicalities and focusing on the intuitive nature of surf is sometimes the biggest takeaway we can learn from the sea. The art of surf is a lesson that lasts forever, and learning the ocean is a major element in our understanding and execution of riding waves. Reading the ocean, or observing and predicting the ways it is going to move, is certainly a love language and an element that should be concentrated on. Spend time watching waves as they break when you’re in the lineup, pay attention to where waves break, how fast they move, where the surfers move and shift to catch them. Not only is surfing learning the ocean, it is also learning a live chess game to figure out how to catch waves in a crowded lineup. No matter what level our surfing is, observing the ocean and the unique way it’s moving that day, in that hour, helps to develop our connection to the waves. Wave speak is a fun language we’re always learning!
