#seeatiptimetuesday Backside Control ~ If you’re working on noseriding on your backside/heelside - chances are you have felt the board slip away from you as you make your moves towards and back from the Nose. There are two ways to counter the board slipping out from under your feet: 1- look at Rosie’s foot placement on the board as she walks up and back - her heels are closer to the inside rail of the board, rather than in the middle of the board. This is extremely critical as the right foot placement will hold the board/rail in the wave. If the feet aren’t closer to the rail, then it is easy for the rail to disengage from the wave which causes the board to slip away from you. 2 - if your board still keeps slipping away from you- your fin may be an issue. Move the fin a tiny bit further back in the box for more stiffness and hold. Fin shape also has a lot to do with how a board performs. If you get an opportunity to try a different fin, do so to feel how it changes the response of your board. Fins and fin placement is very experimental and endless, so start playing with it if your board doesn’t feel quite right!
