#SeeaTipTimeTuesday Surfing a midlength! Kandi is a master on the cruisy, easy-going, freewheeling "fun board". If you frequently longboard but are ready to play with smaller equipment, a mid-length can be a fun transition! Let's break it down: What is a midlength? There are no defined rules, but generally, it would be a board at least 12" inches taller than you and shorter than your go-to longboard. Fin Setup? Always are subjective... • Single fins are great for setting a smooth line and loose, comfortable turns.  In this clip Kandi has taken this board and anchored it with a singular fin (an inch per foot is a general scale, but again, it's whatever feels good). • The other standard option is a single fin + side bites (a larger single fin with smaller side bys similar to a thruster setup) which are great for acceleration and a little more hold in powerful turns! When to use it! Midlengths are not good groveler boards, so if the surf is small, you'll generally find us taking out the trusty log, BUT when the surf hits anywhere from shoulder to head high, plus, it's a great time to test out smaller equipment!
