Foot placement ~ finding the coveted tubes in surfing can be a fleeting experience, and sometimes once the moment presents itself, we have to adjust our feet on our board to create the right speed.
Often times, surfers will shift their feet up on the board as they are pulling into the barrel. This helps create momentum going forward, and creates a deeper connection of the forward rail into the wave.
Barrels will often have a lot of force going up the face of the wave, by shifting forward on the board, this helps counter act the upward pull, with creating momentum and motion pushing down into the wave. After the bottom turn setup notice the very subtle foot repositioning to get into the baby barrel. 🌊
