#seeatiptimetuesday Weight in the Backfoot~ Oftentimes when learning to cross-step to and from the nose, it is common to put the weight into the wrong foot, which causes the balance to go off-centered. For longboarding, our center of gravity should be weighted more towards the back foot than the front foot. Often when people start cross stepping, their weight will go into their front foot after the two cross-steps— this will cause you to lose balance and will likely push the nose of the board into the wave— focus on maintaining your weight and energy over your back foot after you make your first two cross-steps. This tiny shift of energy will bring an enormous change of balance and control to the board. As you cross-step back, remember you want your weight centered just over your back foot, but not too far back as you will fall back over the board. Remember to stay upright at waist as Rosie exemplifies here. If you lean over at the waist, it will likely cause you to lose your balance. If you do need to get lower, bend at your knees and not the waist! Rosie wears our Yulex Seaflower set: the Sydney long jane, and Haze jacket!
