#Seeatiptimetuesday
Back step ~ the cross step back is an essential tool to move across the board because it allows you to both get back from the nose of the board, as well as step into the ideal spot to turn the board. Here, Makala showcases great back step technique. Though it may not appear evident, Makala is pushing through her feet into the board as she makes the cross step moves. This moves the board under the feet, and then gravity allows our body to then fall back into the board with the next step. Be aware to not lean too far on the back foot as you take the steps back, as sometimes the energy backwards can cause you to lose your balance.
