In The Studio With Kate Merrick! 🥑 Kate Merrick is the co-owner of Channels Islands Surfboards along with her husband Britt Merrick. She has written numerous books, traveled around the world for surfing, and is a savant in the kitchen! 🏄♀️She grew up in Laguna Beach, CA, but spent her teenage years in Carpinteria, CA where she met Britt. The Seea girls were lucky enough to catch up with Kate and her daughter, Fifi at their beautiful home in Carpinteria, CA while on the California Roadtrip.
The day began with plenty of sunshine and trading tiny waves in a mostly empty lineup at Rincon, Kate’s home break. After surfing the team headed up to Kate’s family home in the Carpenteria Hills where she treated them to delicious smoothie bowls, freshly picked blackberries, and fermented cream cheese (We’ll share some of Kate’s recipes soon!). 😋They wandered through her avocado orchard and marveled at their epic surfboard collection. We were so thankful to get to sit down with Kate, learn from her incredible wisdom, and be nurtured by her presence.
