Baby Waves. Words from @leahloves as she reflects on her pregnancy journey. Seea is so thankful to have a strong, vulnerable, and inspirational person like Leah in our orbit. Leah, you will be an amazing mother, and we couldn’t be more excited for you! “Surfing has always felt like a union with nature to me. Being in the ocean and riding its waves has become exponentially more special for me now that I am growing a little girl in my belly. I feel like I have an ocean inside of me, and it's just for her. Eventually, she will be outside, in our grand oceans that bring us all life. Pregnancy is a miraculous human experience. The body just knows what to do. It makes a heart, lungs, feet, hands, nails, without thinking about it. It's our body’s wild muscle memory of evolution, an intrinsic ability as members of the animal kingdom. Everything has slowed down to pay attention to each moment, and there’s no more throwing caution to the wind as I had previously. Contrarily, the desire to push it has waned, and the desire to enjoy it has magnified. Beaming down the waves, two heartbeats together, I’m sure it feels like flying for her as it does for me. Surfing still feels like medicine, though at 25 weeks, paddling on my stomach now feels a bit on the awkward side, and I love it. I don’t go for many waves, it’s more the experience of being out there that is surfing to me, and that’s a lesson I pray to hold long after my pregnancy. The satisfaction comes purely from being in the sea. Of course, the ride is still magnetic! Simple surfing has never been so appealing. Stand there, go fast, together. I'm thrilled to celebrate my motherhood with @theseea, who represents a respect for all things woman at all stages of our amazing bodies.” -Leah Dawson Lopez
