I've been fortunate to work with both Mark and Peter over the last 10 years or so and I adore both of them.. largely because they can do what sprinters do.. which is to pull off impossible feats which sometimes have terrible consequences. For the sake of today's madness I think the image we need to see is the frame immediately prior to the frame showing the 'elbow'. This image isn't as dramatic but tells more of the whole story.. I see Mark being Mark and going for something magical.. and at this frame Peter is likely just realizing Mark is even there.. look at his posture.. arm position and bike atttitude.. he's following Demare, and something crazy and bad is about to happen.
