Recipe:
Makes enough for two 5oz pouches
1/2 cup canned pumpkin pureĢe
1 sweet apple, peeled and chopped (approximately 1 cup). We used one large envy apple
2 cups of water
1/4 Tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 TBS milk of choice to help with blending (add more as needed). We used unsweetened oat milk, but breastmilk, almond milk, or whatever milk you give your child will work. Remember, dairy milk is not recommended for babies under the age of 1.
Optional: 1-2 TSP of maple syrup
First, make apple sauce with your apple. Add your chopped apple to a small sauce pan and add the water. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer until the apple chunks are soft (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat, drain, and let cool.
Add them to a blender or food processor. Add the pumpkin pureĢe, milk, and pumpkin pie spice. Blend until smooth.
This apple and pumpkin blend is perfect for babies under the age of 1. For older babies or toddlers who have a sweet tooth, add 1-2 TSP of maple syrup.
Using a spatula, add the pureĢe to Food Pouches up to the fill line. Seal and refrigerate up to 4 days, or freeze.
