Here’s @bigpopbrewing process for a closed transfer from the fermenter to a keg after fermentation is complete.
1- I pressurize the fermenter with CO2
2- Sanitize everything with Star San
3- Connect my transfer hose and in-line filter (I’ll do a quick dump here to make sure everything flows smoothly)
4- Sanitize the liquid post on my sanitized and purged corny keg
5- Open the valve and then release the pressure release valve on the keg once pressure causes the transfer to complete
Note: pressure on the fermenter is minimal, like 5psi and it’ll work. I amp it up to move things along faster, but you don’t have to.
Also, I only use that in-line filter for dry hopped beers, it’s a life saver from all the loose hop boogers in the fermenter!
