Today is moving day and I’d be lying if I told you that I didn’t sit in this closet and cry for a bit. We moved into this house 5 years ago and I saw this closet as a huge opportunity. It would be my inventory room for a boutique I had been dreaming of and in reality it may only be 100sqft, but in my mind it may as well have been 15,000 because the possibilities were endless in here. 4.5 years ago The Shop was born here- I started with 36 pieces of inventory and a prayer that this was God’s will for me. We lasted about 4 months here before we had to move, but the time was bittersweet. I learned so much about business and myself here. I learned the names of customers that we still have to this day (anyone reading this??) in here. I learned live selling here (with backwards, handwritten signs). I woke up at 4:30 am every morning to print labels in here one by one because I didn’t know that there was a way to print them all at once. I picked and packed the orders on this floor. I stickered earrings one by one. I cried.
I prayed. And I truly have heard God in this office…Gentle whispers to keep going, keep dreaming and keep using this platform to spread the Good News! Seasons change and so do homes, but I will always feel so grateful for this space and what it did for our family. What’s your dream? More so- what’s holding you back?
