Marsha P. Johnson was a Black transgender woman, drag performer, transgender activist, one of the first rioters at Stone Wall in 1969. She was at the center of NYC’s gay liberation movement. She helped found one of the first safe spaces for transgender and homeless youth and she protested and advocated tirelessly against oppressive policing. Marsha used to say “Don’t let anybody tell you what to do, be who you want to be.” Inspired by these words and her legacy today #pride🌈
