CELEBRATING LATINE/X HERITAGE MONTH AT SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY
It is an honor to be an Adjunct Professor teaching my course on collective care and the intersection of wellness and social justice at SDSU where a large proportion of our students are Latinx/e. The SDSU Office of HSI Affairs strives to steward the university's commitment to honoring our designation as a proud transborder, Hispanic Serving Institution residing on unceded Kumeyaay land.
Working closely with leadership across all divisions, colleges, and student organizations we are committed to promoting awareness, to educating the campus community about our designation, to fostering a sense of belonging for our Hispanic/Latinx, transborder, faculty, staff and students, and to supporting the opportunities for engagement of our campus and surrounding community in the effort to promote and sustain our identity.
It is a true honor to have been appointed to the HSI Campus Advisory Committee which provides ongoing assistance, counsel and support, toward the creation and implementation of the HSI endeavor. My focus will be on the HSI subcommittee leading on student success, academic and liberatory outcomes.
Allyship requires action. Collective liberation is the goal. You can follow and support the work of the SDSU Latinx Resource Center via link sdsulrc
Thank you summersalt for my gorgeous sustainable poplin dress ethically made in India. What makes me particularly thrilled about this collaboration is that as a brand we are so aligned in so many of our values and ethics which is a pivotal part of my own Yoga practice. Truly honoured to be part of the Summersalt family.
