Embracing my 40s with self-confidence and grace.
Growing up, I was the shy, insecure girl hiding behind others. I was too afraid to shine and could never speak highly of myself. I also didn’t have people around me trying to help me feel better about myself. But I’ve come to learn that confidence is a skill and takes practice. I’ve also learned that you are your own biggest cheerleader and hype woman and let those compliments roll!
When it comes to my body, I know life’s too short to worry about ‘perfect’ beach bodies. With two small kids; commuting to work, and everything else inbetween, gym time doesn’t come easy. Besides, every wrinkle tells a story and every scar is a reminder of strength. I’m over 40 years old and rocking this bathing suit with self-love and unshakable confidence. We are moms and that is beautiful all on its own!
Trust, my self-confidence is an ongoing process but here are a few things I do regularly to increase my inner strength.
-live by my own values and not what society says
-positive self talk, if I want my girls to do this, they must see it first from me!
-surround myself with other positive people
-stop caring about what other people think
-stop trying to please others and put myself first
