If you have health/fitness/wellness on your mind for the new year, NOW is the time to set your goals for 2024!
A lot of people set unrealistic goals (like run a full marathon before they have ever run a mile). A marathon is a great goal to have but setting goals that are so big isn't a recipe for success. You've gotta start with the smaller, more realistic goals - you'll be much more likely to achieve them and you can build up to those longer-term goals.
These are my tips for successful goal setting:
1. Start with your long-term, or ultimate, goal. (Think, SMART - Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-bound)
2. Work backward to decide what you need to do to achieve that goal.
3.Set smaller, more specific goals to get you to your ultimate goal - write your goals down!
4. Monitor your progress along the way
5. Stick with it and adapt to any changes or set backs
6. Celebrate your wins!
