Alright so you’ve siphoned off your savings for a ‘16 Splendour ticket. @splendourinthegrass And we get it, the lineup is well worth mortgaging your house for, with #TheCure, #TheStrokes, #Avalanches and #Santigold headlining the long lineup for this year’s epic dash through the mud. But what about the other bands, those local or little known acts whose 1pm time slot make up approximately 1% of your ticket cost? They are the bands you will probably miss because you won’t even roll out of your tent until 2pm. And then you’ll probably line up for 2 hours to get an egg and bacon roll, finishing your breakfast just in time for a sunset beer. Well guess what? According to trends and statistics (probably), those bands will definitely be the ones selling out the Opera House in three years time. And all you’ll have is yolk stains on your sleeves. Take some time to think about that. And then take some time to read this break down of our favourite non-headlining bands slated for SITG this year.
Enter @twinsymusic Twinsy are all tropical xylophones and dancey chippy beats that pair perfectly with your first morning beer. Sort of like basking in the warm sunlight after a cold swim; all those tingly and nice feelings. This is music that’s guaranteed to cure a hangover within minutes. // review and #splendourinthegrass insight by @lilyjeankeenan - full review online at Summersite.com
