Swimming through clear waters, I've been lucky enough to see some pristine places, and some places which are no longer pristine. ?It is important to understand our impact we are having on the ocean with plastic pollution, we really do need to act, and a lot of that being at a personal level.
?You don't need to use plastic straws, or plastic cutlery, or plastic coffee cups. And please, don't use the tiny soy fish you get when you buy take-away sushi, they are found in the stomachs of birds on islands which have never even been inhabited by humans. ?The impacts of marine debris are unmeasurable, but the furthest corners of our oceans are being affected. The beaches I go to , to surf here in South Australia which are almost untouched have micro plastic washing up that must be 40 years old. ?This year, I've been working on some ways to help my community understand better the impacts of plastic, and marine debris, in our oceans, and can't wait to share it with you all. . . ???????
