In Autumn, energy is accumulated and descends downward. A great accompanying practice to flow with this is journaling, as it brings you into reflection, real world observation of yourself (not mental waffling) and presence. Here are some simple tips to get started or encourage you along: 1. Start small. Give yourself only five minutes a day to write while you ease into the practice and go beyond this as you need 2. Write it on a calendar - instead of staring at a blank notebook, a date book or desk calendar can make it easier to write a sentence or two each day. 3. Ritualise the process; set up the space with intention, you can incorporate a specific herbal tonic, music, scents etc. to make it feel as special as it is. 4. Use an app - your phone can be good for something! An app can help you journal when you're on the go and record any feelings that may arise throughout the day. The Headspace app is a good one to look into. Do you journal? Will you start? We'd love to hear about where you're at in the comments below.
