We specialise in powdered herbal extracts that have a 10:1 potency ratio. This means that 10kg of raw herb is prepared; tinctured or boiled, into a 1kg herbal concentrate. From here the herb is spray dried, sifted and packaged. This results in a product that is of significant medicinal value. Our extraction process preserves the volatile oils component of our herbs, this produces a product that can be quite intense on the palate. The intensity of a herbal extract's taste is a wonderful sign that the product is potent and that there is a high level of active constituents present. We do not standardise our herbs for isolated constituents as we believe in the medicine of the whole herb and feel that ALL of a herb's constituents are important, nature is definitely more intelligent than us humans. The taste of our extracts can differ from some powdered herbal products on the market, many of which can be purchased from the bulk bins of your local whole foods shop. Often these products are just ground up raw herbs or 1:1 extracts, which are a lot cheaper to produce, a factor that is also reflected in the price variance. The medicinal value of these products will be evident in how they taste, which is often significantly less intense than those of a 10:1 potency ratio. If you have ever tried our Ashwagandha compared to a powdered form from the bulk bin of your local shop you will know what we are talking about! A product with a higher extract ratio will yield greater medicinal benefits and a stronger taste and the price of the two products will usually vary significantly. To put it simply, you would need 10 teaspoons of the non-extracted or 1:1 product to get the same benefits of 1 tsp of our 10:1 extracts. As always, we'd love to hear from you, please reach out anytime with any questions. P.s We love this image of Mason at our factory in China where we expertly extract our herbs.
