Daoist philosophy generally has no agenda other than being ensconced in nature and seeing that reflection of nature in your body and then using that to get deeper perception and deeper balance.
The more we can flow with nature the better we feel.
The 5 elements are jin (metal), mu (wood), shui (water), huo (fire), tu (earth). Chinese five elements in daily life were regarded as the foundation flow of everything in the universe and natural phenomena, since the elements are simply a further study of how YinYang transforms and moves. The Five Elements are not the actual substances, but observes natural elements to explain the characteristics of Qi at particular times of the year, day and through certain organs; Liver wood, Heart fire, Spleen soil, Lung metal, and Kidney water. Instead, each of the Five Elements can be understood as an expression of qualities of the YinYang Qi constantly transforming within our body and regulating its function that reflect characteristics of its corresponding element.
